Betsy Lombard paints in plein air in the epic mountain vistas of her Northern California home as well as at her Nevada City studio. Inspired by the landscapes and vibrant colors of her home, she has been likened to the Fauvist greats. She exhibits and paints in Massachusetts, Colorado, and her native home of California. She counts among her influences the Society of Six, John Singer Sargent and Franz Marc. Self taught, she represents the barely tamed appeal of her home nestled in the foothills of the High Sierras. Her work is widely collected and known. Lombard has been invited to paint in plein air in numerous festivals across North American and abroad.
